Isn’t it bad to be angry? Not necessarily—and Jesus shows us why.
He saw a man being hurt while the people in charge cared more about why helping him would be against the rules. That kind of anger didn’t come frustration or pride. It came from a desire for justice.
Not all anger is bad. Feeling heat in your chest when you see wrongdoing or mistreatment doesn’t make you a bad person. It’s a signal pointing to something that matters deeply to you or something that’s out of line with what you know is right.
The difference is what you do with your anger. Jesus didn’t let his anger control him. He used it to restore a man’s hand and confront injustice.
Take a moment to notice your own anger. Where does it come from: love, concern, or pride? Ask God to help you refine it so you can serve him instead of hurting others.
Pray: God, show me where my anger is rooted. Help me use it to defend what is right, not to avenge what I think is wrong. Guide me so I act from wisdom and love. Amen.
